AI is Changing How Malaysian Businesses Work.

Green Packet Admin

Artificial Intelligence is no longer a technology that is limited to chatbots or futuristic concepts. It is becoming part of how businesses work, especially helping to automate repetitive tasks, enhance efficiency and shifting focus to work that brings higher value to the business. Malaysia is not leaving behind. Malaysia Digital 2030 (MD2030) sets out the vision for the country to be an inclusive, trusted and globally competitive AI Nation by 2030. The strategy is also a new approach to digital innovation by moving from a technology consumer to a producer of homegrown digital innovation.

But what does this mean for businesses?

AI is already impacting business value. AI should not be seen as a replacement for people, or a radical shift in an organisation’s working practice for businesses. Instead, relieve repetitive work from employees. Such as document preparation, data entry, answering basic queries and handling vast quantities of information can be time-consuming activities and absorb working time. With AI taking on these tasks, employees can focus on tasks that demand human judgment, creativity, problem-solving and building relationships.

A recent study conducted among Malaysia MSMEs showed that approximately 15–25% of them were using AI beyond automation. 92% of businesses that had embraced AI noted that they have improved their operational efficiency and productivity.

The effects can be great. Studies have found that companies cut the time to prepare proposals down from one week to two-hours and invoice data entry time was cut by 70% for another company. In one instance the time taken for consumer response was also reduced from 24-hours to one hour. As illustrated in these examples, the value of AI goes beyond doing more with technology. It is about giving people time to do what is important.

From Adoption to Opportunity.

With more accessibility, AI will enable businesses to rethink the possibilities of its potential beyond automation, such as decision-making, customer experiences, productivity and new value creation. It is also a place where tech firms can play a crucial role.

Green Packet has grown with the various waves of connectivity, digital solutions, financial technology, smart-city solutions and emerging technology over the last 20+ years. The company remains active in advancing digital solutions to make technologies like AI, cloud, big data and IoT a reality.

It is obvious what the greater opportunity is.

Adopting AI is not just a technological change. It is about giving people more time to do the things that can’t be done by technology. With the shift toward an AI-driven economy, companies that can effectively leverage AI tools for meaningful purposes will discover that the best thing they can gain from this technology is more time to devote to what matters most.
